Meet Our Team


Here’s the Caterstaff team working behind the scenes and on the front lines to manage clients’ needs, schedule jobs and make sure our employees get paid on time (among other responsibilities).

Rick Broughton


Rick Broughton founded Caterstaff in 1991, operating the business from a tiny closet in his house for the first 3 years. Through Rick’s hard work and the dedication of his partner Carlos Medrado and the rest of their team, Caterstaff eventually opened office space in Boston’s Copley Square before moving to its current location in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Today, Caterstaff is one of the most successful service staffing and culinary businesses in the New England area. Born in San Francisco, California, and raised in Columbus, Ohio, Rick got his start in the food service industry working at a fine-dining restaurant while attending Ohio State University.

After moving to Boston in the mid-1980s, he was a seafood salesman to 5-star restaurants throughout the US and he also founded a seafood trading company exporting fresh lobsters, fish and sea urchin roe to Japan and Europe.

Rick is a political junkie with a strong love of family, travel and adventure. He believes that life is perpetually in motion and knows how important it is to never taking anything for granted.

Carlos Medrado


Carlos Medrado was born and raised in beautiful Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He studied International Relations at University Estacio de Sá in Rio. Before moving to the US in the early 1990s, he worked as a container controller for an independent maritime shipping agency in Latin America. Eventually settling in Boston, he joined best friend and partner Rick Broughton in the business venture Caterstaff Boston — and working side by side, they have built a successful company and life together.

With over 25 years of food service experience, Carlos believes that if you work hard, play hard and remain true to yourself and others that you can accomplish whatever you desire in this life. How to best describe Carlos? Spirited and spiritual, loyal, fun-loving, passionate about family, friends and faith, and spontaneous and predictable at the same time.

He remains extremely close to and supportive of his twin sister Carla and all of his siblings. When not focusing his boundless energy on his work, his partner, and his family both here and in Brazil, Carlos enjoys horseback riding, meditation, woodworking and traveling overseas.

Eric Ribeiro

Sales and Scheduling/Office Management

Eric Ribeiro is the newest member of the Caterstaff team having joined the company in 2009. Eric graduated from the University of Massachusetts – Boston with a degree in Business Management and concentration in Accounting. Currently, he is a CPA candidate.

Eric started bartending part-time for Caterstaff while in college and eventually “worked his way up” to a management role through his dedication and determination. He brings infinite wisdom, ambition and “accountability” to his work within the organization.

Without a doubt, it was his hard work and desire to excel that got Eric off to a great start at Caterstaff. It was his vision and courage that quickly moved him up the ladder. Today it is his warmth and enthusiasm that make him such a valuable resource to the team.

Aside from work, Eric is passionate about his family, sports and his dog, Brady. Eric is also an avid motorcyclist and coaches a basketball team in Malden.

Inn Noordin

Scheduling and Office Management

Born and raised in Penang, Malaysia, Inn Noordin is Caterstaff’s original third man and over 20 years later he remains an integral part of the company’s overall growth and success. Ever resourceful, conscientious and helpful to the entire staff and his co-workers, he thinks of himself as a “human google map” for Boston.

Inn joined Caterstaff while studying Hospitality Management at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. While still living in Malaysia, he worked in the Banquet Department at the 5-star Shangri-La Hotel where he once served the King of Malaysia.

For 8 years, Inn also worked at the Pan Pacific Hotel Kuala Lumpur as a Room Reservation Supervisor and his first job was waitering at a full-service, 60-table KFC (also in Kuala Lumpur — the busiest KFC in the world). Inn has a degree in Hotel and Catering Management, is an avid photographer and enjoy traveling any chance he can.
